As Diwali approaches, we join you in celebrating the Festival of Lights and wish you joy, prosperity, and peace. While we enjoy the festivities, it’s also important to stay vigilant and take steps to protect ourselves, our homes, and our neighbours.

Here are some key crime prevention tips to help you celebrate safely:

🏠 Home Security

Lock all doors and windows, especially when out visiting family or attending events.

Use light timers to give the impression someone is home.

Keep valuables out of sight from windows and doors.

🎆 Fireworks & Decorations

Store fireworks securely and use them only in permitted areas.

Keep candles and diyas away from curtains and flammable materials.

Never leave lit decorations unattended.

🚗 Vehicle Safety

Park in well-lit areas and always lock your vehicle.

Remove valuables from your car, including shopping bags and gifts.

💳 Fraud & Scams

Be cautious of online Diwali deals that seem too good to be true.

Never share personal or banking details unless you're sure it's secure.

Watch out for fake charity appeals – verify before donating.

👥 Community Awareness

Report any suspicious activity to the police.

Check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may need extra support.
